Veterinarian Referrals
Dr. Gibson and staff at the American Animal Eye Care Center fully understand the importance of a communicative partnership between ourselves and our patient’s family veterinarian. We are committed to assisting you in providing the very best veterinary care possible.
We thank you for entrusting us with the eye care needs of your patients through your referrals. In addition to your referrals Dr. Gibson welcomes phone consultations to help answer questions you may have regarding the referral. Your patient's intial consultation will consist of a thorough history of the eye condition, including past and present treatment for the current eye issue. Care will be taken to obtain all information needed to provide the highest quality of care for the pet. Our goal is to educate the owner of their pet's eye disease so that they may make an informed decision on medical or surgical treatment options.
American Animal Eye Care Center provide state of the art equipment, offers emergency ophthalmic care to ensure that the patient’s needs are being promptly attended to, and is available for limited weekend appointments.
We have strong hospital management available to handle any concerns you or your clients may have and offer Care Credit for those clients needing payment assistance.
Referral Policy
We prefer that you have your client call our office to schedule an appointment, rather than a staff member so that we may provide all necessary information regarding fees and our location.
To be able to provide the best quality care to your patients a completed referral form should be faxed or sent along with the client to their initial consultation. A Referral Form is available for download under our Referring Veterinarians section or you may call and request a form to be faxed or mailed to your office.
If you would like a telephone consultation with Dr. Gibson, a completed referral form is required to be faxed prior to the phone consultation to familiarize her with your referral.
To assist us in providing quality care to your patients, please fax any pertinent medical records in regards to the eye issue, including recent lab results, anesthetic risk (low, medium, high, etc.),and adverse drug or anesthetic reactions for that patient. If additonal lab work, radiographs, and/or a comprehensive physical exam is requested by American Animal Eye Care Center to be done at your facility after our consultation, please fax us your results, your interpretation, and your assessment as soon as available.
Typed discharge instructions will be faxed to you the same day of the examination with our findings. Please contact us if you have any questions regarding our diagnosis or treatment options.
