Terri Gibson, DVM, MS

Dr. Terri Gibson studied at UCLA and earned her BA degree in biochemistry from Mills College in Oakland, California. She received her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine degree from Tuskegee University School of Veterinary Medicine in 1991. She then joined the faculty and staff at Michigan State University and completed an internship in small animal medicine and surgery. She returned to California and practiced small animal medicine before proceeding to Colorado State University, where she completed a three-year ophthalmology residency and obtained a Master of Science degree.
Dr. Gibson received her board certification to become a Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Ophthalmologists. She is licensed to practice veterinary medicine in several states and has operated a veterinary ophthalmology relief service. Dr. Gibson has lectured at veterinary conferences and meetings nationally and internationally, and has attended ophthalmology grand rounds at the world-renowned Jules Stein Eye Institute at UCLA. She has written and published veterinary ophthalmology articles and was awarded the Charles H. Garvin Research Award. Dr. Gibson’s special areas of interest include glaucoma, uveitis and corneal disease.
Dr. Gibson is a member of several professional organizations, including the American College of Veterinary Ophthalmologists, American Society of Veterinary Ophthalmology, American Veterinary Medical Association, Southern California Veterinary Medical Association (SCVMA), and Sigma Xi Scientific Research Society. She also serves on the board of trustees for the SCVMA. Dr. Gibson enjoys traveling, tennis, figure skating, and roller blading.
